This project is designed for high school students taking an Art 1 level course. Students learn to draw their hands through observation. We work on breaking down complex shapes into simple forms. Students are also tasked with incorporating American Sign Language and background elements into their piece to add meaning to their work. For this project we used colored pencils and learned mark making techniques.
